Indoor Residual Spraying: A neglected solution for Malaria control in Uganda


In this article, MS.  Gemma Ahaibwe- MakSPH – SPEED Project researcher elucidates on the benefits of eliminating malaria by use of IRS.  She notes that even though there is overwhelming evidence on the effectiveness of IRS in malaria prevention in both high and low endemic areas; the national IRS coverage is only about 4.9 percent against 62 percent for ITNs. She notes that without urgent actions  taken , the major gains Uganda has registered in the fight against Malaria over time might be under threat. Read more here.
